1 Corinthians 7:20 Let each one remain in the same calling in which he was called.

Mark 3:13-14 And He went up on the mountain and called to [Him] those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him. Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach,

Jesus changed the lives of the disciples and then sent them. So, God calls us to be with Him but He does not leave us the way we are, He calls us to transform our lives.

That is why we must begin to yield ourselves to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit by the application of His word. It is time we let go of every contamination and let our lifestyle become evidenced by the new life of God that we have received.

Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the just [is] like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.

This should be reflected not only in the works of our hands but also in our walk with God. We must grow: our hatred and detest for the things that do not please God must get stronger, we must model our lives after Christ, and our desires must be in complete alignment with God’s will for our lives.

All these things can only come to pass when we arrive at a place where we know that it is only the Holy Spirit who can help us such that He does the works of God from inside our spirits into our souls but it calls for a life of obedience (submitting to the instruction of the Holy Spirit).

Exodus 20:5 You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, [am] a jealous God, …

God doesn’t share us with anybody, don’t provoke His jealousy. If you believe you are His, then let Him be the Lord of your life, let Him begin to dictate and direct you because God’s will and plan for your life is the best.

1 Samuel 15:22-23 [22] So Samuel said:  “Has the LORD [as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, [And] to heed than the fat of rams. [23] For rebellion [is as] the sin of witchcraft,

After we have disobeyed God, He is not moved by the things we do for Him whether preaching, singing, praying or giving but many times we are running around with sacrifices yet we are living in disobedience.

We must humble ourselves, stop walking in rebellion and chasing after our ambitions, and make the necessary adjustments in our lives as the Holy Spirit brings conviction to our hearts. (Psalms 32:9)

As we cry and seek God for a great move in our lives, families, and nation, let us also align ourselves with the principles that make this life of God that we have received a reality. May the Lord help us to cultivate a heart of obedience.
