A HEART OF HUMILITY

Sep 25, 2023

James 4.6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” (NKJV)

God uses the things that come our way to humble us. Remember, God wants us to host Him but it is not possible unless we create the right environment.

Humility is one of the things that create an environment to host Him.

Where we are going is beautiful and that is why God wants to help us. Each one of us must pray and cry out to God such that He deals with any trace of pride within our lives.

2 Chronicles 7.14 If My people who are called by My name will HUMBLE THEMSELVES, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (NKJV)

Humility is the precondition for prayer.

They were proud people and they needed to humble themselves for God to hear their requests.

Read Psalms 113:6, even God however powerful He is humbles Himself and looks down on the earth.

How do you know that you are proud?

  1. When you do not receive correction with meekness
  2. When you despise/look down on people

What is your attitude towards the people around you?

Zechariah 9.9 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, LOWLY and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey. (NKJV)

Jesus was so humble (lowly) and He never looked down on anybody. God can take us to that place where we lose that sense of despising the people around us.

We must value the people around us because Jesus died for them and all people have the same value.

Psalms 75.6-7 For exaltation comes neither from the east Nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He puts down one, And exalts another. (NKJV)

God is the judge of all and He puts us on a scale wherever He has placed us so that we may be promoted.

One of the preconditions for exaltation is humility.

Isaiah 66:1-5 TPT

God is looking for a place of rest. That is why we must create an environment that hosts Him.

God is not interested in what you give Him but the heart behind the giving; a heart of brokenness, humility, and contrition of spirit. I pray that we may be found worthy to host God.

STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED, WE LOVE YOU.
