The greatest destroyer of believers in the house of the Lord is the enemy from within. He only takes advantage of the loopholes and access we give him (1 Peter 5:8).

He can not devour a believer without their cooperation since they are already fortified by the blood of Jesus.

One of the accesses believers give the enemy is through the misuse of their tongues. It has destroyed more believers than anything else.

Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit (Proverbs 18:21).

The devil only cooperates with what we give him. That is why the Lord is calling us to a place of disciplining our tongues.

James 3:2 NLT Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.

James 3:8 NKJV But no man can tame the tongue. [It is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

James 3:3 Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body.

As small as the steering wheel is, it controls the bus. Where it turns to is where the entire bus goes. Similarly, where the tongue of a man goes, that’s where their life and entire body follow.

If a believer can control their tongue, their life would move in the same direction.

James 3:4 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires.

So small as our tongue is, if we are able to control it, we will be able to control our entire body and grant us access to more intimate moments with the Holy Spirit.

As the Lord is calling us to a life of intimacy and excellence, He is demanding of us, we have control over our words.

A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; [and] with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. (Proverbs 18:20 KJV)

Your life goes where your tongue goes. You can pray and fast right but you need to watch your tongue once you step out of the presence of God.

Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

If you don’t change the way you speak your life will remain where it is.

We must take accountability for our words and stop blaming Lucifer because oftentimes it is us who give him what to use against our lives.

The greatest talk is what you speak to yourself when you are alone. What destroys you is not the devil, but your words.

Proverbs 12:13 The wicked is ensnared by the transgression of [his] lips, But the righteous will come through trouble.

Your words set a trap for you, either for good or bad.  That’s why an angel touched the lips of a prophet and then he was ready to be sent for the great commission (Isaiah 6:4).

Don’t speak like a mere man, speak like your Father in heaven, that is what it means to prophecy. Do not speak your feelings, or prophecy as you want it to be. (Ezekiel 37)

A mighty army arose out of dry bones as a result of speaking what the heavenly Father was speaking, what are you speaking?

Words are containers of power. They deliver bondages, sicknesses, etc.

We shall give account for every word we speak because they contain power. (Matthew 12:36-37)

Colossians 4:6 Let your speech [be] always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Each one of us needs to re-examine ourselves and make adjustments in our speaking because it is what will bring power to our lives.

Remember words are seeds. Ask God to forgive you for every wrong seed of words you planted and adjust to the speakings of God.
