A CALL TO DEEPER FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD AND MEN

Aug 3, 2026

2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

Fellowship with God and man determines a man’s effectiveness in ministry and all that God has called him or her to do. If you value and understand why Christ came on earth, you will value your relationships primarily with God and with men.

God lowered Himself and became a servant to His creation because He desired to have a deep fellowship and relationship with us. He left His glory to redeem us because of His great love for us.

The Bible says in Genesis that, in the cool of the day, the Lord would come and fellowship with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The statement “cool of the day” does not mean evening, but “in the spirit”. Therefore, God came in the Spirit to fellowship with man daily.

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

You can only fellowship with God in the Spirit. The moment you reduce yourself to the world and the carnality of this life, you lower the intensity of that fellowship, and your intimacy with Him becomes weakened.

There are two types of relationships crucial for man to fulfil his purpose: the governmental relationship and the family dimension of fellowship. The wisdom, strength and all the spiritual apparatuses you need to fulfil your destiny and purpose are all tied to your fellowship with God and with men.

Exodus 34:28

Moses spent forty days in the presence of God, receiving the laws that would enable the Israelites to maintain fellowship with both God and man.

Life is about relationships. If you do not learn to relate with God and people, you will not be able to fulfil your governmental and family responsibilities, hence failing to fulfil purpose.

Satan fights God-ordained relationships. Everything you see is designed to hinder and cut short your relationship, first with God and then with man. Therefore, you must learn to cultivate and invest in everything you need to develop and sustain a deeper relationship with God and others.

A real and strong fellowship and intimacy with God translates into a proper relationship with fellow men, and with that in place, you will be able to fulfil your purpose.

Proverbs 18:1 A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; He rages against all wise judgment.

No matter how gifted or anointed you are, you can never fulfil your purpose and destiny alone; the fulfilment of your purpose is tied to others—we all need men. That is why we must develop systems that help us learn how to relate with fellow men.

Even Jesus, the perfect man, needed men to fulfil His purpose when he stepped on earth. He spent the entire night crying out to the Lord to give Him the twelve men with whom He would fellowship, and He chose them. When it comes to relationships that transcend into fulfilment of destiny, you choose them.

How Do We Strengthen Our Relationship with God?

Stay Away From Sin-Ephesians 4:30, 1 Thessalonians 5:19

The Bible says, “Do not grieve the Holy Spirit, do not quench the Holy Spirit, and do not resist the Holy Spirit.” If you love God and want to strengthen your fellowship with Him, do not do the things that you know grieve His heart. Stay away from sin, and from things that offend Him.

The love of the Father is the only thing that protects you from the love of the world. There are three sins that the Lord tells us to stay away from: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. (1 John 2:16)

Obedience to God’s Instructions- John 14:15

Humans define love by feelings, but God defines love by your obedience. We do not obey God’s commandments out of fear of sin or its repercussions, but because we love Him.

The Lord is calling us to a life of deeper consecration and sanctification because our ability to live in fellowship with the Master and fulfil destiny is tied to our level of consecration.

May God open our eyes and remove the veil so that we may engage in activities that strengthen our fellowship with both Him and men, stronger and stronger.
