It has never been and will never be God’s intention for us to live this Christian life in our strength and wisdom. Our lives must be solely dependent on the Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:26-27

Much as God took a bigger portion of Himself, planted it in the man Adam and blessed him with different kinds of abilities, talents, intelligence, and knowledge, there is one thing that Adam was not carrying on the inside of him: The life of God.

Though man fellowshipped with God in the Garden of Eden, he could not host and hold God on the inside of him.

When man ate of the tree of knowledge and evil which is the tree of death, that faculty within man that should have hosted God died, and from there on, our fellowship with God was no longer perfected within (internal) but was from without (external).

Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.

There is a faculty on the inside of man that can only be satisfied by the presence of God.

God made us in such a way that living without Him affords us a life that does not bring fulfilment in itself.

There is a degree in our walk with God to which might, strength, etc. can perform but they will leave you dry. Our peace, fulfilment, and satisfaction come by yielding to the Holy Spirit and allowing Him to take charge. ( Zechariah 4:6)

There is nothing Jesus engaged in and failed: He succeeded at every endeavour because He was a hundred percent yielded to the Holy Spirit. (John 5:19)

The reason why the Holy Spirit has taken residence inside us is to enable us to perform at the divine level. He is the one that leads our walk with God. (Luke 4)

Jesus stayed with his disciples for three and a half years but the day He ascended to heaven, He commanded them;” wait for the promise of the Father: the Holy Spirit” because He was the only help in their walk with Him (Acts 1:4)

However, in order for us to have a life of deeper intimacy with Him, God calls us to live a life of genuine repentance.

Isaiah 6:1-5 So I said:  ” Woe [is] me, for I am undone! Because I [am] a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The LORD of hosts.”

Prophet Isaiah was serving God but he was locked up in a life of iniquity. What God had called him into could not find full expression in his life until God visited him and he repented.

Acts 3:19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

We must be desperate for God and intentional to let certain things off our lives because for every generation God does not make a discount, He demands the same sacrifice.

We must rise to a place of accountability if we are to walk intimately with God.

Ecclesiastes 10:1 Dead flies putrefy the perfumer’s ointment, And cause it to give off a foul odour; [So does] a little folly to one respected for wisdom [and] honour.

We need to get rid of the dead flies we have been carrying that have soiled the testimony of Jesus in our lives (Amos 3: 3)

Today cry to Lord, tell Him; “Lord, enough is enough”. Let us shade off these things and break with relationships that have hindered our walk with You with the help of the Holy Spirit.
