A CALL TO A LIFE OF OBEDIENCE

Aug 12, 2024

Deutronomy 28.1-2 [1] “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. [2] And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God:

Obedience is the key to living an abundant life and will activate the potential blessings locked up in your life.

Jesus said in Psalms 40:6, “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened…..” Opened ears meant a heart and Spirit that are not moved by sacrifices but are sold out to obeying God at all cost.

Many of us attribute the challenges we go through in life to demons but our main challenge most of the time is disobedience to the instructions of God. Look around your life; what are the things that are persistently failing? Could it be tied to some form of disobedience?

Hebrews 5:7 who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear,

Godly fear is substituted with obedience. Sometimes, God tells us to do something and we are held back because we have gotten familiar with Him: His fear is no longer in our hearts. May the Holy Spirit open our hearts to take off any excesses that have cheapened the voice of God in our lives. May we receive the grace to obey!

Matthew 11:28-29
The yoke of Jesus ties us to His will and purpose whereby we are no longer on our own (in charge) but have become love slaves: it is Jesus taking the lead and our role is to follow Him.

Are you yoked to Jesus or are you independent? God is calling us to that place of obedience whereby His will and desires will become our will and desires.

John 4:34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.

What is your food? What delights you? A dead man has no will of his own but rather follows Jesus and His will: Jesus has become their everything.

No matter how many days you pray and fast, it is religion if you are living in disobedience because disobedience renders the sacred things of God powerless.

We have no excuse for disobedience because God has given us what it takes to obey Him: He chose to live inside us in the person of the Holy Spirit to help us keep the instructions and commandments He gave us.

Isaiah 1:19 If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;

We attract every good thing we need when we walk in obedience; the formula is seeking the kingdom of God and every other thing shall be added to us. May we be sold out for Jesus in our hearts so that we may be able to walk in obedience to the perfect will of God because that is the key to stepping into the blessings of God and living an abundant life.
